Sit-In Program of Aila Durgoto Sanghati Mancho demanding Repairing and Reconstruction of Aila damaged Embankments

The speakers in a Sit-In program of Aila Durgoto Sanghati Mancho
demanded immediate repairing and reconstruction of Aila damaged
embankments. Today, 15 January 2010, the Aila Durgoto Sanghati Mancho
organizes a Sit-In Program at Picture Palace Moor of Khulna City to
raise the voices of affected peoples of Dacope, Koyra, Shyamnagar and
Assasuni of the Southwest Region of Bangladesh. Mancho Convener
Advocate Feroz Ahmed presides in the program.

The speakers say, "It is nine month passed the affected people is
still under water. More than 100 thousand people have become refugee
and other 100 thousand are living on the highways. More than 70
thousand people could not cultivate Aman crops this year; they cannot
cultivate even the Boro crops now. If the next year remains
uncultivated serious shortage of food will be happened. Again a number
of people will have to be displaced due to lack of job and living
environment.

Vobesh Mondal and Dheeman Mondal address the gathering of the program.
